Race Track Crash

David Beckham and Michael Owen traded their football kit for racing gear this week as they took time out for a visit to a Madrid racetrack.

The day involved its share of high-speed drama, with David involved in a spectacular crash. The English captain narrowly escaped injury when teammate Raul Bravo careened into a barrier causing Becks to crash his high-performance Audi.

David showed no sign of concern over the incident when posing for photos at the post-race ceremony where each player was awarded one of the sponsored vehicles for a year. He and Michael had joined the Real Madrid squad to make aa day of test-driving a series of luxury German autos at a local speedway.

The 29-year-old football ace and car enthusiast, who recently purchased a Hummer, will have to find space in his packed garage to park his latest vehicle, an Audi A8.
