Beckham Turns To Hypnosis
Monday, July 5, 2004
David Beckham has turned to celebrity hypnotist Paul McKenna as he tries to heave himself out of his disastrous slump.
The footballer, whose personal crisis has left him tearful and unable to sleep, has told friends, "I don't know who I am any more".
His mother-in-law, Jackie Adams, suggested he contact McKenna to find out. Beckham, 29, has already had one session over the telephone and is expected to see McKenna when he returns from a make-or-break holiday with his wife Victoria.
The England captain's fragile state of mind was obvious during Euro 2004 when his lack of confidence was blamed for his two crucial missed penalties.
In April he faced allegations of an affair with his personal assistant Rebecca Loos.
"David is willing to give anything a try because he knows he needs help," a source close to him said.
